NHR 9430-4 Regenerative 4-Quadrant AC Load

The NH Research 9430-4 is a regenerative 4-quadrant AC load designed for versatile, high-performance testing in industrial automation. This current-regulated system can run in all four quadrants and is compatible with single-phase AC inputs and DC sources. It's perfect for testing UPS systems, AC sources, inverters, rectifiers, switches, circuit breakers, and fuses because it replicates both sourcing and sinking power inductive and capacitive loads found in real life. Users may simulate both linear and non-linear loads with this load's several operating modes, such as constant current, constant resistance, constant power, constant apparent power, and constant RL mode. With up to 2.6 times more reactive power (VARs) than actual power (Watts), its sophisticated HiVAR architecture enables reactive load testing without distorting true power.

With current limit settings of 6A or 30A per channel, the NHR 9430-4 provides a broad input voltage range of 10-175V and 350V RMS L-N at frequencies from 30Hz to 880Hz. It can accept 400V and 10-200V DC inputs in DC mode, and it can handle loads that are both AC and DC up to a maximum power of 4kW. The greatest apparent power rating of 10.5kVA improves this capability. Its capacity to regenerate electricity—which returns more than 90% of the absorbed power to the facility's grid—minimizes energy waste, lessens the need for cooling, and lowers operating expenses. This capacity for regeneration can eventually assist in offsetting the system's original cost.

A built-in digital measurement system on the NHR 9430-4 captures detailed voltage, current, power, and timing measurements using high-resolution waveform digitization. Precise load simulations are made possible by the system's capabilities for waveform synthesis and distortion emulation using a graphical editor and programmable macros. Utilizing a touch panel, intuitive interface, and external control through PC software, the NHR 9430-4 offers complete testing solutions across a range of power system situations.
